Every year nine short films based on the same theme are created as part of Atelier Ludwigsburg-Paris. The series are Franco-German co-productions and are produced by ARTE, SWR, Baden-Württemberg Film Academy and La fémis. 

In addition to premieres in Stuttgart and Paris, all the films are presented at the Max Ophüls Preis Festival and broadcast on ARTE. Many of the shorts have screened at numerous festivals and have won various awards.
